Privacy policy
Effective date:
Jayson Reis develops fastest-scan. This policy covers the iOS app and this policy website.
Your scans stay on your device
The app makes a PDF from a camera scan or a video. It processes the images on your device.
The app does not upload your videos, page images, or PDFs to the developer or a scan service.
The current iOS app has no ads, no account, and no analytics or advertising SDK.
Camera, videos, and files
- The app asks for camera permission before it uses the camera. You can refuse permission and scan a recorded video.
- You choose the video that the app reads. The app does not change the original video.
- The app keeps a temporary copy of an imported video for its scan. It deletes that copy after the scan ends.
- The app keeps page images in memory for the page review. A new scan or the end of the app releases them.
- The app deletes temporary PDFs after a share ends or at the next scan.
- A PDF that you save stays at the place that you choose until you delete it.
PDFs in the app folder appear in Files. Other apps can open them when you choose to share or open a file.
If you choose cloud storage or another app, that service handles the file under its own privacy rules.
Your device or storage service can back up saved files. Its backup settings and privacy rules apply.
Settings and test videos
The app keeps scan settings and PDF name settings on your device.
Some debug and internal TestFlight builds have an option to keep a video of a camera scan.
This option starts off. If you turn it on, the app saves the video on your device.
A new saved scan video replaces the older test videos. The app sends a video only when you choose to share it.
The App Store build has no option to keep a scan video.
Apple diagnostics and TestFlight
If you use TestFlight, Apple collects crash reports and app usage data and shares them with the developer.
These reports can include your name, email address, device details, and the feedback or screenshots that you submit.
We use TestFlight reports to find faults, improve the app, and answer feedback. We do not share these reports with third parties.
For App Store builds, Apple can share diagnostics with the developer according to your Apple privacy settings.
Read TestFlight & Privacy and the Apple Privacy Policy for Apple's data practices and retention periods.

Delete saved PDFs in Files or the app where you saved them. For files in another service, use that service's controls.
Changes to this policy
We change this page when the app's data practices change. The effective date shows the latest policy version.
This policy covers iOS. The Android app has ads and has a separate privacy policy.
